Podujevo barbers gathered, agreed that besides hair, customers would save their money

Masters operating in the Podujevo municipality have warned of an increase in the price of haircut.

The price - raising arrangement has been made at a meeting held between the barbers of this municipality. The newspaper Life in Kosovo has found that at the first meeting, price hikes have been discussed, but a definition decision is expected to be taken at a future meeting that has been warned to be held before February 15th.

The newspaper has also secured the new award that some of the businesses have already prepared.

Such price hikes, based on an agreement between businesses, are prohibited with the Competition Protection Law.

The newspaper Life in Kosovo, has been in Podujevo, and has talked to several barbers who have been present at the meeting where the price increase is discussed.

The Berries have refused to speak before the camera, but have told of the meeting held and what was discussed.

“I don't know how to tell you, it's going to be the organizers who did the meeting, they can ride you better. I'm sorry, but I can't talk to you, I'm”, he said, continuing to show what was discussed at the meeting held with other colleagues. “We've agreed to raise the price, but the needle's not decided. We now have 2 euros in haircuts, but if you decide it's 3 euros. There are others who have 1 euro and will raise it to 2”, says a barber who asked not to be quoted by name.

The newspaper talked to other barbers.

We have not attended the meeting, we do not know what is set. If you decide to raise the price, we'll agree, but right now you can't talk to me any more”, another barber replied.

One of the barbers, who was among the starters of the meeting, first agreed to speak to the camera about the decisions made at that meeting. But he changed his mind to pronounce after a call he accepted.

I'm sorry if I can't declare myself. Colleagues need respect, they asked not to talk about the media until another meeting is held. Come on after February 15th, that's when it's gonna be decided and then we can talk about all things”, he says, displaying the reluctance to declare.

The price increase is argued with the trend in Kosovo price hikes for services and other products.

There's no cure, at the meeting we just talked, when there's a definition, then we can talk. The reason why we want to grow is our own growth, the seas, everyone's wanting after those prices. If it's decided, then I'll have to raise them. After February 15th, ” is deployed, he said, seeking to remain anonymous.

Article 4 of the Law on the Protection of Competition prohibits agreements between two or more independent companies, setting the price of sale or services.

“All agreements between two or more independent companies are prohibited, decisions made between companies associations and co-ordinated practices that are aimed at or can evidently affect the trade competition disorder on the relevant market, and especially agreements that: 1.1. They establish, directly or indirectly, the purchase or sale prices, or any other cost trading”, says Article 4 of this Law.

The newspaper Life in Kosovo has also provided a photo of the new award that one of the businesses had established.

In 2016, hotel businesses in Ferizaj had in an organized way decided on the increase in the price of machiato from 50 cents to 70 cents but had raised citizens ' reactions to social networks. But after the interest of the Competition Authority, the price of the machiato had fallen back to 50 cents.
