Petroviq: Serbian police and BIA are bothering us

A Serb deputy in Kosovo told reporters in Pristina Thursday that Serbian police and Information Security Agency (BIA) are bothering members of his party, Serbian media reports. MP Slobodan Petrovic, head of the Independent Liberal Party (SLS), said at a conference that he and his deputy Boban Stankovic were held on separate occasions by Serbian police at the Merdare border crossing between Kosovo and Serbia, adding that this was an abuse of Serbian institutions for party and political purposes.
Whatever happened last night in Merdar (in Stankovic) forced us to call a party meeting. The SLS is being harassed by the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) and BIA. They stopped me once, and yesterday they stopped the party vice president and Kosovo Assembly MP Stankovic. We believe this is harassment, even if it's not physical. It is inappropriate to keep someone at the border for four or five hours asking questions about things that are widely known and reported to the media, “he said.
He asked Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Serbian Prime Minister Ana Branbic to explain why he and Stankovic were held at the border.
It is impossible for them not to know why we stopped at the border,” said Petrovic.
Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj wrote on his Facebook account the day before that Stankovic had stopped at Merdare's crossing and was questioned by BIA officers.
