The boycott of court hearings by lawyers has prompted the Kosovo Judiciary Council to issue a new internal regulation, where rules on home order and attorneys' behaviour will be determined in courts.
So announced in an interview for KosovaPress, KDR chairman Nehat Idrizi.
He said their recommendation, where it prevents lawyers from entering the courts without invitations, is not aimed at restricting them and allowing them to exercise their work.
However, as Idriz says, the goal has been to hinder communication between lawyers and judges.
As for that decision, he said the KDR recommendation is in the Constitutional Court and is awaiting its final decision.
According to him, however constitutionally established, they will respect you.
In contrast, the boycott of lawyers calls it unreasonable, as says Idrizi lawyers are deliberately misinterpreting the KDR recommendation.
He also announced that the boycott of lawyers has presented problems in emergency cases, especially in detention.
On the other hand, he said some of the lawyers, but civil society is getting in their favor.
Idrizi said the total boycott has not occurred, according to him, some lawyers have gone to court hearings. /Kosovo pres/
