Kurt in Recak: We owe many to the martyrs and martyrs of the nation

Kurti stressed that Recak's massacre acknowledged international public opinion and global diplomacy to intervene against Milosevic's Yugoslavia, understanding all that we knew all along, that Serbia understands only the language of force.

Our memory is fresh for the Recak massacre 20 years after that. The images were so terrible that we are shocked by them to this day. Justice is so late it hasn't begun yet. No Serbian police or military man has been tried or convicted for this unprecedented crime.

On June 10, 2005, he and the residents of Recak village and the relatives of the martyrs faced him U n NMIK a sheet of the names of 20 Serbian criminals who had been executed by Albanians in Recak on January 15th 1999. Still, neither local nor international justice has acted to put those criminals who viciously hit the defenseless and unarmed civilian population. Recak's massacre acknowledged international public opinion and global diplomacy to intervene against Milosevic's Yugoslavia, understanding all that we knew all along, that Serbia understands only its language, so the language of force.

Today, two decades later, we humble ourselves with respect and pain but also proudly, for the martyrs and martyrs of the nation in general and especially for those here in Recak. Family members of the deceased are also victims, and each day they pass is a day of injustice to them. Witnesses and martyrs of the nation, as well as their families we as citizens, as politicians, as representatives, owe them much. Glory to all martyrs and martyrs of the Albanian nation!”
