Kosovo coach carrying Ibrahim Rugova coffin

Today, 13 years since January 21st 2006, when Kosovo's historic president, Ibrahim Rugova, had passed away.

Today, Kosovo has its Army, while Ibrahim Rugova's 13th funeral ceremony had honoured the Kosovo Protection Corps, which had already turned into the Kosovo Security Forces, while by the end of last year eventually became the Army, the Express broadcasts.

At the time, Coach Tahir Batatina was a KPC superior and engaged in carrying Ibrahim Rugova's coffin with his KPC colleagues.

After we got the news of his death and after some of the non-explications that they were, the order came to bury the president from the staff I was serving. We were the most prepared people in the KPC, we were teachers of all officers and NCOs at the time. We quickly organized and started the ceremony”, said about “Zerin” Batatina, who is now the director and investor of the laptop club.

It has not been easy to assume responsibility and be part of a historic moment for burying the historic president with military honours and knowing we had thousands of people from around the world. There were numerous world-level, attachive and military delegations. I feel honored and proud to be among the people I had the honor of burying one of the greatest personalities of the time, a man and a personality like Ibrahim Rugova”, Tahir Batatina noted.

We remember that Batatina was also part of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
