Canada's national archive has purchased a rare book that is believed to have served as an idea for a Nazi cleansing of Jews in North America.
Once part of Adolf Hitler's personal library, the 1944 volume gives information on the Jewish population in various cities, as well as the most important organizations and newspapers serving the Canadian and American Jewish communities.
The 137 - page book is written in German; it bears the title “Statistics, media and Jewish organisations in the United States and Canada” were drafted by researcher Heinz Kloss, who worked in the US in the late 1930s.
The search was conducted on behalf of the Nazi regime and suggests what could happen in North America if the Allies lost World War II.
The book lists general population figures, as well as the number of Jews in dozens of large and small Canadian cities, from Vancouver to Glass Bay, follows the TCh.
His information, according to expert Michael Kent, would make the pillar of a “final solution for Canada”, allowing Holocaust authors to know where to go to find Jews and how many of them they could collect. The Canadian archive hopes that this book will turn into a weapon against Holocaust denial and in a way to remember the extermination of millions of innocent people in Europe. /Periscopi
