According to a study conducted by a team of Finnish and American researchers on children and relationships with parents, women actually have a natural preference for girls, while men tend to invest time, energy and resources mainly in their sons.
A very detailed study
The study that undermines cliches for preferred children was published in the medical journal “Scientific Reports” included 347 women and 423 men. The authors invited them to answer some questionnaires and have done several tests. On a test, volunteers were asked to choose to donate money to institutions where girls and boys were accommodated and assisted. In another test, men and women were asked to link positive and negative words in terms have to do with male or female gender, while researchers measured the right time to make those connections. In another examination, again, participants were forced to perceive themselves as relatively wealthy people. The goal was to verify the Trivers-Willard hypothesis conducted by two researchers in 1973 that well-being parents invest in their sons, while those in poor condition choose girls.
Trivers-Wilard's theatre was denied
By analyzing all the collected data, experts were able to identify the clear and most subtle preferences of “, and the parents' intimate to their sons and daughters, making some very interesting discoveries. First, the authors found no confirmation of the Trivers-Willard hypothesis. Second, they saw that their parents have different sermons depending on their gender. Women, regardless of their socioeconomic situation, tend to have clear tendencies towards girls. In the case discussed, they actually chose to donate more money to solidary societies that support girls and give priority to adopting girls. On the other hand, the men interviewed showed continued preference, although less distinct, for the boys.
Children should all be the same in a parent's eyes, but it may happen that you have preferences. There is nothing irregular or wrong, important is trying to contain them, making no distinction between children, and being very fair.
Do you in your family have preference?
