Official research by the 28-year-old Argentinian attacker and pilot David Ibbotson, 59, had stopped on Thursday.
Money, collected through page “Gound Me” has allowed the footballer's family to finance two ships to begin searching Saturday.
The plane disappeared from the radar on Monday evening as the pair flew over the English Channel and were on their way to Cardiff.
Argentina's president, Maurizio Macri, has joined Sala's family's calls to resume the research.
Among the 2,448 who have contributed are many footballers, including Leo Messin, Ilkay Gundogan, Adrien Rabiot, Corntin Tolisson, coach of Nantes Vahid Halilhodzic.
Organisers of the site, the Paris Sport Cover-based football agency, hopes to raise 300 thousand euros for the research.
