Shpend Ahmeti's appointment as co-chairman of the negotiating team in dialogue with the Serbian state is seen as harmful to the Pristina municipality.
The opposition in Pristina has criticised Ahmeti, saying he is dismissing the numerous problems in which the municipality is located, KTV reports.
The Democratic League of Kosovo Ahmeti's commitment to the dialogue with Serbia sees it as rational for failing to rule in Pristina.
Citizens say his commitment to talks with Serbia is not legitimate.
They have asked Ahmeti to choose between being mayor and that as co-chairman of the negotiating team.
But there is also the thought that Ahmet can make both commitments.
President Shpend Ahmeti rules with Pristina in a second term, following the late 2017 victory over the LDK's Arbab Abrash.
He has been calm Tuesday for comments, but earlier in some interviews he said his commitment to the dialogue in Brussels would not impede his work in Pristina. /Time.net
