Brnabyq: We don't listen to America, we will continue lobby for Kosovo recognition

Serbia's Prime Minister Anna Brnabiq has said the US has demanded that Serbia be banned from lobby for recognising Kosovo's independence, but that Belgrade, according to her, has openly rejected it.

Brnabic has stressed that the Kosovo issue cannot remain as a frozen conflict because it affects Serbia's progress.

“People need to understand that frozen conflict means frozen instability. We won't be able to use all our potential if we have frozen conflict. We won't be able to move forward the way we can. At some point the frozen conflict will melt. Who says that resolving the Kosovo issue should be put off for later, he either has no idea how to settle, or has not had the political courage to try to solve”, tv Stepic quoted Brnabyq as saying.

According to her, the international community has a sentimentality with Pristina.

The current situation shows the whole EU sentimentality. In a conversation with the representative of a large country that is Pristina partner, I have asked why all that is happening in Kosovo is being tolerated. The answer I got was that “that's a new democracy”, said Brnabyq.

She has complained that “unfortunately because of stability in the region I have to talk to Ramush Haradinaj”.
