Mitrovica Mayor Agim Bahtiri today has handed over to Prime Minister Kadri Veseli, the petition for uniting the town of Mitrovica with 16,594 citizen signatures.
Bahtiri has said that this petition is being handed over on behalf of citizens, and has added that his goal is to make Mitrovica an equal city for all, despite ethnic differences.
<x0.15 thousand people displaced from the north are still living in the mercy of the injustice that was done and living in the south as refugees in its city, unable to build their homes, to go back to where they were born, where they lived and worked before, even after all the efforts we have made, we haven't done that, they didn't want such a former chairman, but other structures that didn't have their heads in Pristina, but in Belgrade, said Bahiri.
Mitrovica's first one has said he has not found support for this process from Serbian leaders, but has reiterated that the union will contribute to both sides. He has confirmed that Serb citizens have signed the petition, and on behalf of all residents, he has asked Wessel to consider this request in the Parliament.
“In the name of people who are not able to return to their homes, but also in the name of Serbs who are trapped who think to move forward by the parallel structures of Serbia, who are overwhelmed and are not satisfied with this, there are also petitions by Serbs themselves, I ask and I pray you sincerely, I beg you, I pray you, with all my heart and heart to lead this to the institution that you lead, and such a decision we expect to come to us soon”, Bahiri said.
Save Head of The PDK, Wessel has said this petition will be treated very seriously in the Kosovo Assembly and has pledged that no citizens will be harmed during this process.
“Mitrovica is a city of Mitrovicas, will be a dignified municipality in which Serbian citizens will live jointly in perspective, economic development. What it takes most is for groups that have no interest in Mitrovica and Mitrovicas, I'm talking about Mitrovica, not to manipulate politically with that part of the Republic of Kosovo for the fact that it needs more peace and prosperity”, Veselin said.
Wessel has said there will be no provocation for Serbian citizens, and the decision to be made will benefit all citizens.
