Through a Twitter post, Engel has thanked Thaci, while he said he expects to work together for the good of the American and Kosovo people.
“Thank President Hashim Thaci for your good words. I expect to work together for the benefit of the people of the United States and Kosovo”, has written Engel on Twitter.
Thaci has said Engel has been among the key personalities of freedom, independence and recognition of Kosovo.
Dear Elliot Engel, congratulations on the new mandate as Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Relations at the American Congress. You were among the key persons for Kosovo's freedom, independence and international recognition. We expect co-operation to further the final peace agreement”, Thaci wrote on Twitter.
