The United States has turned down a 16-year-old Syrian girl who was injured in the face by a bomb explosion at her home. She had applied for visas to be treated in American hospitals, while the visa was rejected because of President Trump's empowered stop.
Marwa al-Shekh Ameen was placed earlier with her family in Germany, but the doctors in this country had advised her to seek more sophisticated medical treatment in the United States, as her daughter was subjected to 13 operations due to third-degree burns in her face, hands and chest.
A Boston children's hospital had assigned the search term in November last year, while a volunteer agency had offered temporary accommodations for her and her father. However, the American authorities denied her visa with the reasoning that there was not enough evidence that she would return to Germany.
This decision has surprised all its supporters, who have said Germany has offered shelter to six members of its family and they have already settled in their new home near Nuremberg. The girl's uncle said that no one who has feelings of compassion would deny medical treatment to his niece.
However, the American government has made it very difficult to access citizens from the designated countries, including Syria. According to the State Department, out of 33 thousand visa applications that have come from states involved in the detention list for six months, only two percent of them have received positive answers, writes the “The Guardian”
