Kosovo lacks meritocracy, and therefore gender inequality is highlighted, especially in the field of higher education and jobs.

So said college rector Riinvest, White Qirez, in the co-operation “Grath at High Education and working equality”, organised by this college, where special importance was dedicated to the need for gender equality.

Crees said that in Kosovo the two main barriers that according to it affect women's independence are -- children's scheme and that of elders.

“As far as ambitions are concerned, we have equal access to education. Abandonions are in the last year of high school and college. We also have one under representation in certain areas such as master and doctorate studies. I may suggest that abandoning occurs because of the role of women in the family, economic conditions. We in Kosovo have more family structure than just spouses and children. And financial support is needed for independence”, Crees said.

Anthropology professor at Pristina University Nita Luci said patriarchal and structural values continue to challenge gender equality. She stressed that gender equality should be structural principle rather than being seen in numbers.

“are a number of problems recorded in the field of education. The first problem concerns the structure of inequality itself. At MAST so far there has not been a woman as minister or deputy minister. According to the Kosovo Statistical Agency in 2014, three men were in the post of minister and in the post of deputy ministers. At MAST, women do not hold either of the 8 decision-making positions. There are about 23 percent of women in leading positions. Also, men receive 40 percent of the wages and wages from MAST. More women than men are enrolled in the UPP, but it is noted that there is greater favour of boys than of girls”, she said.

According to her, economic restructuring in the past 20 years has affected the decline in prosperity.

Ariana Qosaj from the KIPRED stressed that the statistics on women's representation in institutions are disturbing. That particular emphasis cost women's representation in politics.

“Presentation to political appointments remains a challenge still. Of the 21 ministers, only one is a woman. This shows how much we follow the voter trend and how much space we give to women because the positions are reserved for men. Of 64 deputy ministers, only 3 are women and 61 are men. And of 66 political advisers, 14 women and 52 are men. So I call it Oda of men”, she stressed.

Economist and researcher Dobranja Day said it is very important to focus on quality, how women emerge in the labour market.

She said that barriers are usually associated with a lack of time. According to her, the woman's economic independence allows abusive women to leave her.

The barra that society and family are the burden that made them timed. This makes it more problematic to choose what to do next. Women who find jobs and are employed, about 52 percent of them have claimed to have discrimination in the workplace”, Dobranja stressed.
