Veterans who had entered the KLA as 18-year-old listed as a fake veteran

After publishing in the media the names of about 20 thousand veterans suspected of being false to the Special Prosecutor of Kosovo, the compromise of investigations into fraud with Kosovo Liberation Army veterans' lists (UÇK) has begun.

That, as on the lists of false KLA veterans under the indictment filed by former prosecutor Elez Blakaj, is part of the KLA war veterans during 1998-99.

Among the real veterans who've been put on the fake list is Blerim Vlasaliu, by Novoberda.

Although 18 years old, he was in 1999 to the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK), to fight for his country.

The acquisition was a soldier in the Karadaku Operative Zone.

It was surprised and offended to find his name on the list of fake <x0->veterians.

He says he possesses all documents that prove he was a member of the KLA. He even claims to be known by all, fellow warriors in the area.

The acquisition, says that unless these lists are changed, he will send the case to the tribunal.

” As 18 years old, I haven't gone to war for profit, I went to fight for the country. I don't know if I get killed or enjoy freedom. Meanwhile, the Actakuz handed over to the court, with the names and personal records of persons suspected of being illegal beneficiaries in the name of the status of Kosovo Liberation Army veteran, is considered to be deliberate.

Recognisors of justice and political issues in Kosovo say the list, to which more than 1,300 new names were added, was made in order to fail this process back in court.

In this regard, outgoing Prosecutor Elez Balakaj, who handled the veterans' case after this publication, has declared that she is not responsible for the indictment, since she, according to him, has suffered many changes, adding over 1,300 new names.

Also, the headship of the Kosovo Liberation Army Veterans' Organisations days ago has estimated that it was a violation of the publication of the list of those thought to have benefited against legal.

KLA OVL Chairman Hysni Gucati has declared that with the publication of the Prosecutor's List with this move, announcing illegal beneficiaries of 20 thousand and 238 veterans, he has declared them suspects without giving them access to protection and challenging evidence that go against them in the phase of the criminal investigation.
