Turkey arrests 60 people suspected of links to Gulen

The detainees were among the 89 suspects whose arrest was ordered in an investigation launched by Istanbul prosecutors and spread to nine provinces, Reuters said in a statement.
Authorities have carried out occasional attacks against alleged supporters of cleric Fetullah Gulen since the July 2016 coup attempt, in which 250 people were killed. Gulen denies involvement in the incident.
While Ankara prosecutors issued arrest warrants for 13 senior officers, 3 of whom are still in office, the Hurriyet newspaper said.
Turkey has arrested about 160,000 people and has dismissed nearly the same number of civil servants since the rifle attempt, the human rights office said in the U.N. in March. Of this number, more than 50,000 are officially charged and held in prison during their trial.
