Serbia's Minister of Internal Affairs, Nebojsa Stefanovic, has reacted today to Kosovo Parliament Speaker Kadri Veselini's statements regarding Vuciq's visit to Kosovo, saying Serbian President “has brought peace order and not war rhetoric”.

Kosovo Assembly Chairman Kadri Veselini has said earlier today that Serbia's president in Kosovo came with the old rhetoric against a peaceful future.

“Anyway, his visit I consider good that happened, because it was once again witnessed that Serbia's leaders are continuing Slobodan Milosevic's tradition. That they do not come to help and protect the Serbs in Kosovo, but come to promote themselves. Like always with old rhetoric and against peaceful future. Attempts to block us from walking, frequent visit with provocative tones in these 19 years testify that we must think and engage even more in strengthening the state of Kosovo”, Wessel said.

But Minister Stefanovic says Wessel “has had hearing or translation problems”.

“Press before all Kadri Veselin if there is a hearing problem or had a bad translator, as there is no single Vociki sentence during the stay in Kosovo, which can be assessed as a war rhetoric”, Stefanovic told Tanjug.

Otherwise, Wessel in a Facebook post has nowhere mentioned the <x0 war rhetoric word”, referred to by Serbian officials from Belgrade.

Wessel's full mailing to Facebook:

Good peace and neighbourhood have been and fundamental goals of the state of Kosovo remain. Kosovo believes that the path of dialogue and co-operation is the only possible option to overcome differences from the past and move forward on the Euro-Atlantic road. In the spirit of those principles, we have made the decision to allow the visit of the president of Serbia.

On the basis of state tradition, I have not wanted to declare myself before the end of his visit to Kosovo.

I want to stress that I have been against his visit to Weyman, as I consider such an act does not contribute to peace and dialogue at this time. But with the insistence of our international partners, we allowed it.

I think the demonstration on Wyman's feather has been a clear demonstration of the logic of political hegemony, but also against any security rule, as there is no kind of democratic practice guaranteeing security measures to hold press conferences on the feathers.

However, his visit I consider good that happened, because it was once again witnessed that Serbia's leaders are continuing Slobodan Milosevic's tradition. That they do not come to help and protect the Serbs in Kosovo, but come to promote themselves. Like always with old rhetoric and against peaceful future.

Attempts to block us from walking, frequent visit with provocative tones in these 19 years testify that we should think and engage even more in strengthening the state of Kosovo.

We are now in an extremely important phase of dialogue with Serbia. The developments of these two days relate to the final phase of dialogue and should bring all of us together to be prepared for the challenges ahead.

Kosovo, its citizens, has proved today that they have nothing against Serbs. But they have been and are against the provocative behavior of everyone else. I want to thank them for the behavior shown these two days, and so do the Kosovo Police and KFOR for a management of the situation, in accordance with the tasks and laws in force.

We want the state of Kosovo to move forward, as an independent state, with its territorial integrity intact and as soon as it becomes an equal member of the UN, the EU and NATO. This vision should unite us, so I call today to sit down and work together.
