The meeting was conducted by Pristina Deputy Chairman Selim Pacolli and attended were representatives of the Kosovo Police, Education Directorate Director Januz Salihaj, Public Services Directorate Director Habib Qorray, and neighborhood representatives.
Ghazen Xhafa, commander at the Centre station, said the number of accidents in the Pristina municipality has dropped, but disturbing remains serious thefts.
“From January 1st to now there has been a decline in accidents, disturbing are serious thefts and we have an operational plan where police officers, who work in civilian clothes and civil cars, are greatly impacting the prevention of this” phenomenon, Xhafa said.
Also, Kosovo police from all regions expressed concern that they constantly have complaints from citizens about locals who pass work schedules, busy driving sidewalks near locals that make it difficult to pass citizens, and that is why they criticised Pristina Community Inspectorate.
Januz Salihaj, Education Director in Pristina municipality, told of the state of education in the municipality and the delay of the start of the school year in two Pristina schools.
“I have 75 institutions with over 45 thousand children, two schools have started late, Elena Gjika School and Independence. For late school's start of the Elena Gjika school is the Ministry of Culture's fault, because that object is the object of cultural heritage, and the Ministry with its procedures has delayed the start of the school year, while for the Independence School the blame is on the municipality because we have not been able to provide the means for timely intervention”, Saliaj indicated.
He also said it is disturbing to use narcotics within school spaces.
The narcotics problem remains a problem for educational institutions because many people go through courtyards without permission by selling to students, and this happens mostly in schools where children go with high standards such as Elena Gjika, Sami Frasher, Ismail Kemaili, Dardania and several other schools”, Salihe said.
Also presented were the damage from powerful winds, which caused damage Monday this week.
Public service director Habib Qorray said he would fix those damage and that they have already created additional teams to work longer to repair, and later to collect the damage data.
