Total notification of KMDLNY:
KMDLNj visited Kosovo Police Director General Mr. Rashit Qalaj to congratulate the new position, as well as to express will and willingness to continue co-operation with the Kosovo Police, which so far has been very good. Under its mandate of work, KMDLNj raised several issues for discussion that are of concern to our society. Initially, KMDLNj after multi-year monitoring highly praises the work of the Kosovo Police, praising it as a reliable and correct institution. KMDLNj voiced support for the decision that police officials during working hours do not frequent uniformed religious temples, but that right they can do outside their working hours. Also, stopping the position of police officials in cafes is appropriate, and it affects police officers to be more present on the street and their jobs for which they are called. The small number of police officials and central concentration are concerns for both sides. The director confirmed that they are committed to changes in this regard under the work regulation and law. He also stated to KMDLNI representatives that he would commit that police officials would create better conditions for work, and for eating food after the decision not to frequent cafes and restaurants.
It was also discussed in the case of beggars on the street, which KMDLNI considers an organised crime led by one or more centres, which mishandled children for material gain, and the director claimed there will soon be intensified separate shares in this category. Also, Kosovo police have engaged in eliminating the use of narcotics in the country's schools and locals, and that was also KMDLNj's concern.
It is a joint assessment that the Kosovo Police are very much engaged in, in many sectors, including protection and security in all the country's institutions, the realisation of shares, such as KEDS, water supply, security delivery during the realisation of sports activities, etc. The poor situation of the Centre of Maintaining and poor conditions for staff and persons being held there was a problem identified by KMDLNj and which requires solutions.
KMDLNj demanded that the number of police officers increase during the night shift because the safety of citizens in this way increases.
It was KMDLNI's request that the traffic database be maintained so that citizens who are willing not to be forced to appear at the police station to prove they paid the sentence but that this atonement should be done automatically.
KMDLN insists that police create health insurance opportunities as we are dealing with a specific and necessary service.
The positive changes Mr. Director General proposed. Rahhit Qalaj, who influence the increased efficiency of the Kosovo Police through further professionalism, has full support of KMDLNj.
KMDLNj will ask the institutions responsible to increase the budget for Kosovo Police during new budget planning.
Both sides expressed readiness to continue the good co-operation they have had so far and to continue in the future.
