Palmer: To enter the EU, Serbia, Kosovo must agree

“It means what is currently determined through negotiations led by the European Union. We support these negotiations, support the role of (EU High Representative, Federice Moghrini) to help Belgrade and Pristina reconcile about the definition of full normalisation”, the American official, well-informed of the circumstances of Serbia and Kosovo, has said.
For Serbia this would mean progress on the road to EU membership. This is also Serbia's strategic goal and something the US strongly supports”, Palmer has expressed.
According to his assessment, for Serbia to achieve that goal “should reconcile with Kosovo”, Koha.net broadcasts.
Asked if America accepts the agreement between Serbia and Kosovo on territories, Palmer has replied that the US wants to see the local “agreement, inclusively dedicated to progress”, trying that negotiating parties enable room for negotiations for the best deal they can reach.
Whatever is right, something that is permanent, something that can be sold both in Serbia and in Kosovo. While leadership can talk to people, explain and receive the support of the critical measure for the”, Palmer said, transmit Koha.net.
As he put it, when the U.S. finds out what the agreement is, depending on what we've been waiting for, we'll clearly say what we think, but that “is important for the process (negciators) to lead local leaders”, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Matthew has said Palmer.
He has declared that US policy in the Western Balkans remains focused on helping these countries achieve their goals and ambitions and become part of European and Euro-Atlantic institutions, which for all Western Balkan countries means EU membership.
Palmer has also said that, except for Serbia, it means membership in NATO, while the US wants to promote closer partnership between NATO and Serbia.
Several different American administrations have already worked in this direction, and that remains the strategic goal of American politics, while rejecting claims that the Western Balkans are less important”, Time.net broadcasts from Palmer's interview in the EB.
The United States remains committed to the region, and we remain in this region”, it has indicated.
