Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Gashi, along with British Ambassador Roairi O'Connell, has participated in the “Minni Rugby” tournament, which was organised in the football field “Vigani” in Matiqan.
He has said that today he has come to see closely how young people are practicing this sport, and at the same time has announced that after the founding of six football clubs, now, for the first time in Kosovo, the Federation of Ragby will also be licensed.
Gashi said this sport has lacked Kosovo and expressed interest in investing more through the ministry he is running in this sport.
Now six clubs exist in Kosovo, six football clubs, and soon, in the Ministry of Sports we're going to licensed the football federation for the first time in Kosovo, it's an extremely attractive sport which, I repeat, has been missing from us, and I as minister, but the Sports Ministry are extremely interested and committed to having as many sports as possible, and one of them will be the sport of football. I'm here today to see how our young people can fit in with this sport and at the same time agree with the ambassador where we can start investing in a field for this kind of sport because I strongly believe he's going to be embraced by a lot of young people”, Gashi said.
Britain's ambassador to Kosovo, Roairi O'Connell, said this sport requires bravery, and according to him, bravery is not missing in Kosovo. He said this sport is for all and expressed optimism about the popularisation of this sport in Kosovo. Also, Connell indicated they had support from the MKRS and the Kosovo Olympic Committee.
I always thought the best sport ever for Kosovars was football, and the most suitable people are Kosovars. We're so glad that there were dozens and hundreds of people watching me. There are Kosovars, Albanians and Kosovo Serbs playing in diaspora, abroad, and we hope to popularise the football sport here in Kosovo”, Connell has said.

Save Shujak, a player from the “Bears RFC”, has said that despite being a new sport, he expects large turnout and hopes to transform an important sport in Kosovo.
This sport is still in the initial stages of development in Kosovo, as there are not many clubs, but we believe that over time, the football will be developed as an important sport in Kosovo, as even at the world level it is managing to have a” attractiveness, Shujak has said.
Otherwise, under the founding of the Federation of Ragby, the first tournament in this sport took place. /Periscopi/
