Ministry of Trade and Industry marks World Tourism Day with activities in Pec

The Ministry of Trade and Industry has today marked World Tourism Day with several activities organised in co-operation with the Pec municipality and with Kosovo tourist associations.

The official opening of this event made incumbent Minister of Trade and Industry Arbene Krasniqi office.

Krasniqi stressed that the ministry she heads has given priority to development in tourism with concrete things, establishing the Department of Tourism.

“to prove commitment to tourism, such as the strategic sector of economic development, the Ministry of Trade and Industry has established the Tourism Department, to enable favourable policies to be initiated and developed, as well as to promote Kosovo as a tourist destination. Among other things, during this year, we have also started with the creation of legal infrastructure as a basis for expanding tourist supply and tourist safety, as well as protection of their rights”, Minister Krasniqi said.

It has also indicated that the signing of a memorandum of co-operation with the Japanese Tourism Agency, under the exchange of experiences with friendly countries.

Special attention is paying to developing good relations with friendly countries so that Kosovo can be a special tourist destination. We have recently signed memorandums of tourism co-operation in the area with the Japanese Tourism Agency, aimed at two-way exchange of information, experience and knowledge in the field of tourism through increasing the number of tourists between the two countries”, Krasniqi stressed.

Kosovo's new MTI tourism development initiatives will influence Kosovo to be an important tourist destination.
