Under the World Tourism Day, Minister of Trade and Industry Foreign Minister Arbeshare Krasniqi has visited the Zenel Beut Tower in Pec as part of organised activities to promote tourism in Kosovo.
She said on that occasion that Kosovo has numerous tourist sites, but, according to her, is lacking tourist attraction.
According to her, MTI under the Tourism Department will work in this direction, as tourism will help develop Kosovo, until it has commemorated that a co-operation agreement with Japan has recently been signed.
<x) The Ministry of Trade and Industry has special access to this sphere and here proves the dedication and work that we are doing in a continuous way. What we've done this year as the Ministry of Commerce is that for the first time the Tourism Department was established, which is really doing an extraordinary job”, Krasniqi said.
On behalf of the Peja municipality, Jeanette Syla, director of tourism in this municipality, who said Peja is a leading country in Kosovo for tourism development. She also urged those in attendance to visit Pec.
“We are the absolute leaders in developing adventure tourism and we are trying to promote development and promotion of cultural tourism and cultural heritage, since we possess many religious cults and other elements of what we have to talk about and guests everywhere have what to explore”, Syla has said.
While on behalf of tourist associations, Aragon Boyku spoke, chairman of the Association of Speologists “Aragonit”, who said the fairs said they are the main method of promoting tourism around the world.
Not by chance or by saying we're lucky to have these, but with our job and our daily use, we channeled them in a direction that is now beginning to thrive, it's starting to be a supportive point of Kosovo's economy, and not much developed”, Boyku said.
Otherwise, World Tourism Day is held every year on September 27th. The goal of marking this day is to promote awareness among the international community of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic values. To mark World Tourism Day, it is scheduled for the 3rd session of the World Tourism Organisation Toremolinos, Spain, September 1979, starting in 1980. In Kosovo for the first time, World Tourism Day was marked in Pristina in 2011 by the Kosovo Alternative Tourism Association, which organised a reference meeting.
