The 19-year-old has confirmed his desire not to play for Kosovo in an interview for Inex.hr.
Kastrati scored last night the second goal for Zagreb's Lokomotive in the match against Rijeka, so the second squad from Croatia's capital continues to be a contender for the title.
Kastrati has scored five goals this season, being the second best goalist in the Croatian championship.
In an interview for the newspaper in question, Kastrati says he wants to play for Croatia, while acknowledging that he had contacts with the Albanian Football Federation and the Kosovo Football Federation.
I talked to people from both Federations, but I haven't decided yet. I want to play for Croatia. I don't have a Croatian passport yet, but for three years I can get it and play for Croatia's national team”.
” In Croatia, football is better and stronger than in Kosovo and Albania, and I really want to wear Croatian fanfare”, Kastrati said.
Kastrati has recently played for Kosovo, U-21, where he assisted Florent Hasani's goal of Ireland in a match that ended as a draw.
Kastrati has played for Albania, U-17, Kosovo-19 and Kosovo U-21 so far, and his only wish is currently to represent Croatia. /IndesksOnline/
