The Police Antiterrorism Directorate was the host of the trilateral meeting, between the Italian Police Anti-terrorism Directorates and the Albanian Police.
This meeting comes as a result of previous meetings conducted in Italy and Albania, under the assessment of current threats and continuing bilateral co-operation among the three police organisations.
Police Director Rashit Qalaj said terrorism as a phenomenon has a wide range, exceeding both national and regional borders, no country as alone can be successful in preventing and fighting terrorism.
The only way to guarantee success in this regard is to co-operate and exchange information in time, so we like the Kosovo Police very much appreciate this trilateral co-operation initiative, between the Kosovo Police, the Italian Police and the Albanian Police, which is of particular importance to the security of all our countries, but also contributing to regional security, but also the global”, Qalaj said.
Qalaj said co-operation within this group, but other forms of co-operation will have the full support of the Kosovo Police as an important partner in regional and global security and will pave the way for the journey towards full membership in international security mechanisms.
Among other things, Qalaj called for the support and support of representative institutions in KP membership efforts in INTERPOL, during the general assembly in November of this year.
During the meeting, those attending pledged mutual co-operation and commitment towards advancing the exchange of information, and support among partners, with common interest in preventing and fighting this phenomenon.
