Albanian President Ilir Meta has talked about Kosovo-Serbia relations, Monday's meeting in the Vatican with the head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, as well as EU assessments on progress made by Albania on the path to European integration, to the prestigious Italian newspaper “Il Messaggero”, one of the two most important in Italy.
Asked whether he is afraid of destabilising the region following the recent tensions between Kosovo and Serbia, the Albanian president has said that for peace, not only for the region but even wider, good relations between Kosovo and Serbia are needed.
“for peace, not only in our region, is the foundation for Belgrade and Pristina to consolidate relations and go together, even more, on the path of European integration, but without touching border issue”, the incumbent has said, reports Top Channel.
