FIFA has accused Cristiano Ronaldon and Lionel Messin of “discrediting football” with their non-participation in sharing prices from the football house.
The ten-year double monopoly for individual prices ended on Monday, when Luka Modric was declared the best player in the world by FIFA, but Ronaldo and Messi did not attend the ceremony.
“With this [with nonparticipation] they discredited football, perhaps without understanding this”, the Spanish newspaper “Marca” quoted a FIFA official.
Madrid's former coach, Fabio Capello, has reacted, saying it is disrespectful of football stars.
It's disrespectful, you should be there when you win, but even when you lose”, the Italian coach said.
