Since 1938, when birth started in hospitals, it has been repeatedly required to increase care for the mother and child, but over the years medical experts say that the presence of father/parter at birth has positive effects in the entire process.
But in Kosovo, the public health service does not enable fathers to participate in the birth process.
The director of the Gynecological Clinic Obstetrics, Myrvete Paziada, tells of KALLXO.com the reasons why a Kosovo father cannot be part of the birth process.
For startin' that procedure at the clinic we have to do a nana training we're doing. They prepare for birth, the same should begin with the husband and he should be informed of the birth process. Many times when we tell husbands to see their wife rather than participate in the east, they reject the idea that they are afraid to mean even our husbands are not prepared for the woman's birth. Then there are the views of whether to participate we have had cases that have sought to participate”, Paqaada said.
She adds that there are many parents who insist on being part of the birth process, but that is a wish that it cannot be met by the clinic staff.
“Klinika was built many years ago that there were ideal standards for that time, but it wasn't presumption for the man or family to take part in the east and you'll see it in the delivery room you'll see you pass through the hallway and the one passing by will see the other women. One of the conditions is that building birth halls, like any boxing, would have its own toilet, where it could stand, where it could prepare a coffee or tea or sit to read. Unfortunately, we don't have those conditions. If we had those conditions, we have the trained staff and we are supporters of the motion that a husband or family member can be there, but there are no conditions in the clinic for the participation of the husband in the east”, she says.
Padada says that the possibility of parent participation in the east may exist when conditions are created, but initially according to it, construction of a maternity power in Pristina where births would be held there, while only complicated cases would be directed to the CKUK.
