David McAllister ( EPP, Germany), European Parliament Foreign Affairs Commission Chairman and Rapporteur for Serbia, as well as Igor Soltes (Grenens/ EFA, Slovenia, rapporteurs for Kosovo, have met today with the Federation Moghrin, EU High Representative and at the end of the meeting, McAllister and Soltes have said that this dialogue is very important for the stability of the entire Western Balkans, the Telegrafi broadcast.
“Dialogue between President Thaci and President Vuciq for reaching a comprehensive normalisation agreement is extremely important for the future of Kosovo and Serbia and for the stability of the entire Western Balkans.
We want to warmly support their efforts, as well as those established by the EU High Representative, Vice President Federica Moghrini over the past years to try to reach an agreement that is applicable, sustainable, in line with international law and for the benefit of the entire region.
We know how challenging these discussions can be, but a positive outcome can pave the way towards EU membership and lead to good neighbourly relations. Such an agreement with mutual consent would be a historic achievement, and we, at the European Parliament, remain fully committed to offering all our support to the two presidents and High Representative, to ensure a successful end of”, was the joint statement of McAllister and Soltes.
