More than 316 tonnes and 46 thousand garbage bags have managed to leave within two days from Kosovo's total cleaning action volunteers that began Saturday.
Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Fatmir Matoshi has thanked all those who have participated in the action.
“Extraordinary action to protect and clean Kosovo, initiated in co-operation with many ministries. I thank all citizens who have participated in cleaning up Kosovo, as well as schools that have done a wonderful job cleaning up Kosovo. Over 109 thousand volunteers have participated in environmental cleanup and over 316 tonnes of waste and 46 thousand garbage bags that have been counted by volunteers, as well as a large number of inert waste. The success of this action is the citizens' commitment to the cleaning of” environments, Matoshi said.
Meanwhile, Let's Do It Kosova Director Luan Hasanaj told about the cleaning action plans in the coming days.
“It is a rare case that Saturdays have emerged over 100,000 citizens for the cleansing of Kosovo. There will be action tomorrow to clean up illegal storage and clean up the road belt. This action has passed all our expectations for cleaning Kosovo”, Hasanaj said.
Meanwhile, Rexhep Kadriu, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, also spoke of other cleaning action plans.
“We've been working on 20 locations in Kosovo and we have in our plan that until the end of the action we will continue with cleaning up the road belts that we have groups formed even now, the roads that are in the MI management will be cleared of inert waste and we will try to create a campaign for awareness of the citizens who circulate the ways of the world and waste, which they keep in their bags throwing into Kosovo”, Kadri said.
