Customs officers travel on alternative roads after Serb roadblocks

The road is blocked by Serbs following President Hashim Thaci's visit to the Lake of “Wyman”.

Kosovo Police and officers of Customs have travelled through alternative roads after the roadblock to make a switch at the border checkpoint in Brnjak.

The news of KALLXO.com on the roadblock has confirmed the deputy director of the Kosovo Police in Northern Mitrovica, Besim Hoti.

“Diku after 17 o'clock is blocked and the road continues to be blocked by about 200-300 protesters from the Serb community”, Kosovo Police Deputy Director in Northern Mitrovica Besim Hoti has said.

He has added that the road is blocked near a gasoline pump at the entrance of Zubin Potok.

Blocking the road by local Serbs came after the unprecedented visit of President Hashim Thaci on this day to Lake Weman and to the border point in Brnjak.

We remember that President Thaci from there declared that Kosovo is unique and inseparable and that it was a pleasure to enjoy the beauty of nature in that part of the country.

He said he also met with Serb citizens of Northern Mitrovica on this visit.

On the other side of Pristina today was the protest called by the Vetevendosje Movement against President Hashim Thaci's idea of mending the borders between Kosovo and Serbia.

Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti before the protesters today declared that today's protest has been called against President Hashim Thaci.

As much as we love Kosovo the Republic, so much we love Eastern Kosovo, we love Albania so much that for no conditions and no circumstances do we subject ourselves to this man. This protest is neither about electorates nor about votes. In the election is power in question, but today the state is in question. Serbia is not indebted to us, new pain and compromises we do not accept”, Kurti said in today's protest, which was the first after his party's division, where many representatives from civil society and LDK deputies Vjosa Osmani and Korab Sejdiu participated.
