They're living under very serious sanitation.
brutal beatings, broken phones, strict body control to find weapons and money theft were some of the brutal experiences facing refugees and migrants with the Croatian police.
This abuse is done to them, they say, during efforts to pass through Croatia to Germany.
Bosnia is viewed as a new road to Western Europe, as the EU tightened the measures for crossing borders.
This year, more than 13 thousand refugees and immigrants have so far reached the country, compared to only 755 in 2017.
In Velika Kladusa, Bosnia's westernmost city near the Croatian border, hundreds of people have lived in improvised tents in one area for the past four months.
Overnight, <x0loja” begins, a term used by refugees and immigrants for the challenging journey, when they aim to go to the EU through Croatia and Slovenia, which means difficult travel through forests and cross rivers.
However, many of them have been captured in Slovenia or Croatia and are forced to return to Bosnia by Croatian police, who patrol their borders as part of the EU.
All 17 refugees and migrants interviewed by Al Jazeera said they were beaten by Croatian police, some with sticks and others were hit hard.
According to their testimony, Croatian police have stolen valuable things and money from them, taken passports and destroyed mobile phones, preventing their communication and the road to the EU.
