Catalonian leader Quim Torra will resume the campaign for division of this region from Spain, refusing an offer by the Central Government in Madrid for maintaining reference for greater autonomy, Reuters broadcast.
Torra, has been appointed leader of this region in May, replacing Carles Puigdemont, who has fled to Brussels last year after Madrid has removed him from the office.
The new Spanish Socialist Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, has established a softer approach to Catalonia since it assumed the conservative position, Mariano Rajoy, in June, despite showing no sign of voting about the region's full independence.
I'm going to take him to the end of” and Torra said in a TV interview Monday.
The “will go as far as the Catalonian Parliament will require”, he has indicated.
His statements have come a week before the national Catalonia Day, in which thousands of separatists are traditionally gathered on the street. The Torah has called for massive exits this year to show support for Catalonia's secession.
Sanchez has proposed on Monday holding a referendum on greater Catalonia autonomy, but has strongly rejected any calls for independence or unilateral secession efforts.
