Residents of the street, Rejep Krasniqi, in Pristina's neighbourhood of Calabria, face an unpleasant smell that reeks of sewage.
The sewage flows into the Matt River, which passes under the bridge of this road that has become impassable by the torrential rains that have fallen in the past months.
Sadik Mehmeti, who has been living in the Kalabria neighbourhood since the 1970s, has shown that at the time the bridge was first improvised with boards to enable children to go to school.
We've fixed this bridge for almost 30 years, we've finished here, and now it's like this. And now that it's broken down, it's been almost three months or four, all summer, but you see, I've been at the Shpend and I haven't even been able to get in, but I have a letter there, it's been three months, and no one's been giving me any answers, and nobody's ever come to me with a rain of”, says Mehmet.
Mehmet has confessed that the cars are being forced back because the bridge on Rajep Krasniqi Street has become impassable.
We're here 200 or 300 houses, big neighborhoods here, and no one's come to interest us anymore, permission that we can't get through cars, but the wind, we can't stay inside of it”, he says.
Even Fetty Buzoku, another resident of the neighborhood, Calabria, has indicated that when temperatures are high, the residents cannot cross this road because of the smell of sewage.
This is where women with children go, as they get out here, the students go to school on this road here”, he pointed out Buzoku.
Adonis Tahiri, an information official at the Pristina municipality, has told KALLXO.com that the Directorate for Capital Investment and contract Management is fully committed to resolving the remaining property problems and complete the project.
We're working on building a collector in the neighborhood. We've had some property problems with local residents, most of which have been solved, and we're toward solving the last case. The bridge issue, it connects with these, because it will be above the collection”, Tahiri has declared.
