US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley said American government positions regarding Kosovo have not changed.
Asked today by the media for John Bolton's statement that “The US is open if leaders in the Balkans agree on border change”, US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley said US government positions have not changed.
I don't believe that positions have changed. I think what you're asking is what we're saying all the time. There are individuals who speak to the administration and there are people from the administration who also speak. ”
Nikki Haley made that statement when she appeared before the media after a Security Council meeting. She explained the main points on the agenda next week when world heads of state will be gathered at the General Assembly. Even American President Donald Trump will be present.
No kind of signal has been sent so far that something could be decided for Kosovo. President Hashim Thaci has announced that within the Assembly he will meet with President Trump.
That's not confirmed by the American side or by the UN. But Nikki Haley said today that different meetings will be held under the summit.
In New York during the week of the General Assembly will come except President Hashim Thaci, and Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj and Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli. Everyone comes with their own agenda. There doesn't seem to be any common plan. Even dating is such.
Since Kosovo has no place in the United Nations, the UN is reserved for information.
UN organs face clashes between unionism and multilaterism.
Translated this means that there are countries seeking to distribute UN responsibility and duties among different forces, and to ease US power within the UN.
For Kosovo this means that decisions must be made by other countries, not only by the US. Unfortunately, Russia is part of these other countries. /dah/
