Albin Kurti requires women to get into politics

The Vetevendosje Movement aims at the greater involvement of women in decision-making and politics.

So it was said at today's mobilizing rally, organised by the Vetvendosje Movement on subject “Grath in Movement”.

LVV chairman Albin Kurti said that the main focus of this party is the largest number of women in their base, as according to him, the woman leads the party and the state differently.

He mentioned an occasion when the disciplinary commission has ruled out a member of them, since the same one violated the rights of a member woman.

We should increase women's participation in politics. It is not the only solution to selecting a percentage in the hierarchy - representative quotas - because we have often seen in our country and elsewhere that when a woman has reached higher positions, the general situation for women has not changed. In my opinion we have to work harder to increase women's membership. So our main focus should be the transformation of the base. As our secretary said, currently only every fourth member in Vetevendosje Movement is a woman, and that must change very quickly and very quickly”, he said.

According to Kurti, women are staying away from politics, as this is currently patriarchal policy.

Citing the first statements by women for gender equality, Vice President Fatmire Muharja-Kollcak said that since 1971, gender equality has yet to be discussed. According to her, the party's goal is to be 50/50 in terms of gender equality.

It's obvious that such gatherings we don't often hold because we don't see the woman's role in society, but historically we can't deny that women have been deprived of many rights that they have met men. And I might find that somewhere in the first statement that women's rights were mentioned was in the French revolution, where for the first time the term began to be heard the women's rights, where in 1971 we have a statement from a French woman, capable writer, who raised the issue of rights, in fact, the injustices that have been committed to women, and it requires a special right in education because there was a woman's lack of education used as an excuse for her political engagement. And from then on, from 1971 until now in 2018 and we need to talk about gender equality”, she said.

Speaking about ideas on border correction, Kolcak has said he will not allow bargains with Kosovo to take place.

The director of the Women's Secretariat in the Vetevendosje Movement, Nazlie Balaj, said all women of the profession are committed to helping each other to strengthen in society.

This appointment suggests that we are on a path to solidification, we are on the road to mutual support and empowerment. Without such organisation, without such support, wherever we are, wherever we act in any organisational structure of the Vetevendosje Movement we can say that we as women and girls build the cause, not the cause to bring women only to power, but women who become the voice of change even of the status of women wherever she is in Kosovo today”, she said.

Otherwise, the topics discussed at the gathering are the goal of Vetevendosje Movement for empowering the role of women in society and the woman in Movement.
