About 12 million with Albanian ethnicity are said to exist around the globe. Now, they have two small nations to run, being the majority, but most of the ethnicity in question lies in many other parts of the world in huge numbers.
According to recent statistics, approximately 4.3 million Albanians reside in Kosovo and Albania alone. 500 thousand people have declared their ethnic identity as Albanians and in Turkey, but it is thought that nearly 5 million of them live there. In the neighbouring country, Macedonia [North] lives around 509 thousand, making the second ethnic group more important in that state.
As many as 600 thousand Albanians live and work, whether temporarily or uncumentedly, in Greece. 300 thousand people live in Germany and another 200 thousand in Switzerland. Only 5 thousand people, according to statistics, are Albanians in Serbia, while 17 thousand in Croatia and 30,000 in Montenegro.
