The heavy event took place in the Athens neighbourhood of Agios Meletios. The two young men flew several meters away, while the car that crashed them left the scene.
For Sokolin, a 26-year-old Albanian, nothing could be done. He passed away. While his girlfriend Veronica, a 23-year-old Polish-born, was taken to the hospital, but despite medical intervention, the young woman passed away because of severe injuries.
Witnesses at the scene said that the driver was with a passenger and that after communicating with him, he quickly left. Witnesses said that the vehicle was black and gave the police a license plate.
Despite verifications, however, Hellenic authorities have not yet been able to find the vehicle in question.
According to Greek media record, in addition to the evidence at the scene, investigators have also seized security cameras in the area to try to identify the person behind this tragic accident.
Depressed by the loss of their young children, the victims' parents have appealed to citizens who may have seen or heard something, to testify to the police, so that the event is white.
Sokoli and Veronica were in love. The 26-year-old Albanian worked, while his Polish girlfriend was a third-year student. Their friends described them as two young people with life and their dreams filled with them.
And in the 23-year-old's father, he sought justice for them. The man who killed them left. He didn't care and disappeared. I want to find the person who killed my daughter and her boyfriend,”, he spoke to the Greek media.
