The government of Spain is expected to adopt amendments to the law this week to allow for exhumation of the bones of dictator Francis Franco, Culture Minister Jose Guirao said today.
He said the government is likely to approve the changes Friday in order to block Franco's descendants and supporters who legally challenge exhumation, the AP broadcasts.
The new Spanish government of the centre-left has announced that the removal of Franco's remains from the mausoleum to the Ra's Valley will be one of its priorities.
She believes there will be sufficient support for changes to be adopted in parliament next month.
