O SEU trains Kosovo Police to identify domestic violence

The course had early indicators such as physical evidence and psychological signs of the victims; the first police response and assistance for victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse; as well as providing security for police and victims involved.
“Fighting domestic violence is a priority of Mission”, said Killian Wahl, deputy head of the O Mission The SEU in Kosovo.

Ramadan Krasniqi, police sergeant, said this course was an excellent opportunity to learn new approaches in dealing with cases of domestic violence. “S, along with such training activities in the future, should focus on public opinion awareness of domestic violence and increasing our co-operation with them to minimize this negative phenomenon”.
After that course, participants will become certified trainers and develop similar training courses for other patrol officers at their police stations.
The OSCE Mission in Kosovo has a mandate to protect and promote human rights and community rights, as well as democratisation and development of the public security sector. The mission regularly offers advanced and specialized training courses for law enforcement agencies to further improve their capacities.
