Rasp: Thaci is using the Valley for his own politics, will have no union with Kosovo

Rassic, chairman of the Democratic Progressive Party, has stated in an interview for Online Economy that Thaci uses this issue for his daily politics.

Rassic has demanded that much caution be taken when discussing border corrections, saying that if this were to happen, it would imply ethnic division, which, according to him, would affect regional and international security.

He has added that if this were accomplished, it would encourage other countries to seek separation or union with another country.

“A division, a correction of borders, an ethnic division as expected to be done is not good and not use these negative projections where then to see a danger to Europe's security, and I'm sure Europe understands that it will then open up the so-called Pandora Box where any country can seek any division, union, such” action, Rassic estimates.

On the other hand, he estimates this would be catastrophic and very serious for the southern Kosovo Serbs.

As for warnings of eventual autonomy of the northern part, Rassic estimates that these are only word games, as Kosovo's Constitution does not allow that.

So this is just a word game, what that means, doesn't mean much because we don't have mechanisms. If they had any mechanisms within them, for example, the Kosovo Constitution probably realized that there is a special form of status, but otherwise in this form, now in the Constitution and also in the laws of Kosovo I don't see such an opportunity which could result in benefits that territory could have”.

In the process of dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade, Rassic doubts that Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, is capable of finding a solution that meets with Kosovo Serbs.

Therefore, President Vuciq has that position, but I doubt he is able to see the depth of the problem and realise the way we Kosovo Serbs believe it is the best solution, as he says. I doubt he has the capacity to understand and then realise the interests of Kosovo Serbs”, Rassic has declared.
