More than two years have required prosecutor Faik Halili to understand what the composition of the Kosovo Government was in 2013, when, with the approval of several ministers, the Turkish consortium “Calik-Limak” is given four hydropower plants.
The State Prosecutor has declared in April 2016 that he is collecting information on the hydro power plant forgiveness scandal. After the investigation phase, the prosecutor of the case, Faik Halili, has issued a decision to launch investigations against several senior officials. Among them are former Economic Development Minister Fadil Ismajli and current Finance Minister Bedri Hamza, writes today “Koha Ditore”.
However, neither Hamza nor Ishmael held those positions when the forgiveness of the plants was signed. Hamza had resigned from the position of finance minister in January 2013, while Ishmael was nominated to the position of Economic Development Minister on May 16, 2013. On May 8, 2013, only the contracts for loss of hydropower had been signed.
