European Union foreign policy chief Federica Moghrini said it would support the exchange of territories between Kosovo and Serbia if the two countries avoid any attempt to create ethnically homogenous states.
Whatever the outcome is mutually agreed on, it will have our support, provided it is in line with international law”, Moghrin said.
She made these comments at a media conference in Vienna, following a meeting between the European Union foreign ministers and their Balkan counterparts.
The idea for border correction has been unveiled by Kosovo and Serbia's presidents, Hashim Thaci and Aleksandar Vuciq, as opportunities for resolving their problems.
Moghrin is the mediator of dialogue between them, which is expected to continue next week.
