He had stated on public television during yesterday that the most appropriate solution to the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia is the union of Presevo, Bujanoc and Medvedja, with Kosovo.
But the next LDK vice president does not share the same opinion on the issue
LDK Deputy Chairman Agim Veliu said he has no knowledge of President Thaci's statements yesterday because he did not forward them.
While, for statements by Gjilan chairman Lutfi Haziri, who is also LDK deputy chairman, said they are Haziri's personal stances and that they do not represent the party.
As Veliu says, changing borders can bring other effects to the country and the region.
That's Mr. Haziri's attitude, it's not the attitude of the Democratic League, not that it does not want the Democratic League to join Presevo, but it should be given that touching borders and changing them has other effects. And we are for Kosovo with these borders, without changes of borders. Just as it was pronounced with the resolution and as the International Court of Justice has proved that fact. That's Lute's individual attitude that I respect his position, but it's not the position of the Democratic League. ”, Veliu said.
Deputy Chairman Veliu stressed that his position coincides with that of the party because, as he claims, changing borders could bring about extraordinary situations for the region.
I personally think as we discussed at the chairmanship meeting, and we have concluded that the Democratic League does not support changing borders. On the basis of our judgment, there may be extraordinary effects on the region”, he concluded.
