Kosovo Prosecutors Association reacts: Blakaj has never expressed concern nor threat

The Steering Council of the Association of Prosecutors of Kosovo, at the meeting held on August 23rd 2018, with which they discussed the situation created after the resignation of the former special prosecutor, Mr. Elez Blakaj, made this public reaction: The Kosovo Prosecutors' Association, as the non-governmental institution, which has a statuteic obligation to protect the interests of state prosecutors, [...]
The Kosovo Prosecutors' Association, as the nongovernmental institution, which has a statuteic obligation to protect the interests of state prosecutors, considers that the prosecutorial system management cannot be degraded by specific political circles, or individuals designated by civil society, because this is considered direct interference in the independent work of the prosecutorial system and a tendency to undermine investigations in certain criminal cases.
The Kosovo Prosecutors' Association announces the public opinion that so far no prosecutor of the Kosovo prosecutorial system, including Mr. Blakaj, has expressed no concern, either as a threat or as an impact on his independent and impartial work by anyone. So public statements about whether threats and influences within the prosecutorial system are to cover his personal or otherwise. Furthermore, the Kosovo Prosecutors' Association vows it will react more strongly, demanding responsibility from prosecutors who, by their actions, undermine the image of the prosecutorial system, the interests of citizens and state institutions of the Republic of Kosovo.
The Kosovo Prosecutors' Association strongly supports the work of each individual prosecutor and prosecutorial body manager of the prosecutorial system, as well as condemns any tendency to denigrate each prosecutor's commitment individually and collectively, which is completely unacceptable and does not help implement the Law in the Republic of Kosovo.
