Selenica's massacre a few days ago, where a 24-year-old man killed his eight cousins has not come because he was offended.
Ritvan Zykaj said at the Court that the event had taken place because he was always accused of stealing and that the latest charge had been on some chickens.
However, the cause of the murder seems to be more than just that, since there had always been conflicts between two families over property issues.
Panorama writes that the family of eight victims had previously lived up in the hilly in the village of Resulaj. After the 2000 ' s, they had landed in the village where they built dwellings on their land. But this has not been welcomed by the crime author's family. They have even had disagreements about some of this property.
Even the victims' bodies are not buried in the village cemetery but in their homes. The move has been made by other victims' survivors to show that the property is theirs even after that.
Meanwhile, Selenica Deputy Mayor Neim Garaj has stated to the newspaper:
I've heard from the occupants this conflict, but there's never been a formal complaint from them. We as a city hall have not yet decided whether to grant a support fund to survivors. The meeting we arranged for burial expenses was under emergency conditions. Now, we will decide how to proceed further with survivors and help them. ”
