Uruguayan defenders will not leave the madrile team.
The captain of Atletico Madrid, Diego Godin, has agreed to continue the contract for two years that will link him to the club by 2021.
Uruguay had a contract until 2019 with a 20-million-euro clause ready to pay Manchester United team, but the footballer did not want to leave Madrid.
32-year-old has taken the cap of the “captain Los Royblancos”, following Gabi Fernandez's departure this summer, the club has also raised his record of faithfulness.
Godin played 350 official matches with Atletico, since he moved from Willarreal in 2010.
