In “M The KRS perceives DokuFest”, Minister Kujtim Gashi has praised DokuFest's work, as well as has announced those in attendance for increasing the budget for the Kosovo Cinematographic Centre.
“The Ministry of Culture always takes into account the great results of our artists, creators and performers, especially filmmakers, who are promoting Kosovo in the best possible way worldwide, and one of them is also the biggest cultural event, such as the DokuFest Festival, which we can rightly call not only the festival but also a special cultural institution in Kosovo. I said, always considering the results of this festival, but even our films around the world, two days ago we have made the decision that the budget of the Kosovo Cinematographic Centre, which has been around 750 thousand euros, will raise by 100 percent, with the sole goal that all people working the film have the proper support of the state”, Gashi said.
While Veton Nurkolar, the artistic director of the DokuFest, has set up a parallel between filmmaking in Kosovo, and international recognitions for the new state.
“I want to use this case and thank the minister for what he mentioned just moments ago, for extraordinary news, for doubling the Kosovo Cinematography Centre budget, which in translation means more films from Kosovo for Kosovo, more international recognition through the film, and I hope it doubles, four times, and we have as many success”, Nurcolari said.
This ministry will provide support to the DokuFest even next year.
