Kosovo and Serbia leaders have given voice to their intention to change borders between the two countries on Saturday, Euronews writes.
Professor Florian Bieber of Southeast European studies at the University of Graz explained to the newspaper what this change of boundaries means, Periscopi broadcasts.
According to him, there has never been a formal plan showing that the idea of changing borders has been removed from the review, Bieber says. There are four Serb-run municipalities in Kosovo -- Leposaviqi, Zveqani, Zubin Potoku and North Mitrovica -- that would trade for Bujanovac and Presevo -- according to him.
He adds that despite being enemies in wartime, Thaci and Vuciq have already joined in promoting the idea and seeking the support of the European Union.
I think both are highly motivated by political and personal survival and by power,” said Bieber. “and I don't think they're concerned with the broader political implications that this could cause.” ) he added further.
He emphasises that such an idea is not so much supported in Kosovo, Periscope from Euronews conveys.
The professor in question cites the major risks the EU may make so that I do not support the two joint leaders about a goal. /Periscopi
