The European Union has again started the issue of setting up a joint filler for phones from various producers, meaning that Android and iPhones could soon use the same charge.
The EU has been considering the possibility of introducing the same mobile phone loader nearly a decade since it has been reportedly carrying 51,000 tonnes of electric waste from older drivers to the European Union.
And iPhone users and Android often complain about using various caricators, writes Euraciv.
In response to European Union pressures, 14 companies -- including Apple, Samsung, Nokia and Huawei -- signed a voluntary memorandum of understanding in 2009 with the desire to harmonise their models of smart phones, which were to be presented at the market in 2011.
After completing the memorandum of understanding in 2012, some companies wrote letters to their goals in 2013 and 2014. In the EU, however, they say they are not satisfied with their status.
In view of the disappointing progress in this voluntary agreement, the Commission will soon begin to assess the assessment study of the costs and benefits of different options,” said EU Competition Commissioner Margaret Vestager.
